Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actor. She also sings. In her early years, Sara was racially taunted by many people in America. It was in her ninth grade when she began to gain confidence after receiving a rousing ovation at an audition. This experience did not just help the confidence of her, but also altered her goals in life. She graduated from the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. She began her career when she was 23 years old, appearing in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and The You've Got Mail film. In the Broadway first production of Spamalot she portrayed the Lady of The Lake which won the Tony Award as well as the praise of critics. In the following year, when she was Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC the show, she received more recognition. She is also a known artist and published an extended version of her play. She is an activist who works tirelessly to promote LGBT equality.
